Molenbergfeesten elected as ‘Best Distillery Event’

Since the launch of Gouden Carolus Single Malt at the end of 2013, De Molenberg Distillery received no less than 11 international awards for its unique Belgian whisky. On top of all that now comes a medal for best distillery event in the world.

Molenbergfeesten has been elected as ‘Best Distillery Event’ at the Distillery Experience Challenge in London. This award is issued by Drinks International, a leading international journal on spirits, wine and beer. The aim of this competition is to put innovative tourism initiatives in the spotlight worldwide to support distillery tourism. The previous winner in this category was Bundaberg distillery (Australia) with The Spirit of Bundaberg Festival.

About Molenbergfeesten

Every year during the last weekend of May, De Molenberg Distillery is the unique setting for Molenbergfeesten, a weekend full of experiences and discovery for young and old. The focus of the event is on enjoying all that the region has to offer, with particular attention to the environmental and social aspects. For example, Molenbergfeesten is also part of Day of the Park and actions are organised for charity. In just two years, it has become a great event to look forward to. Last year, the second edition attracted about 4,000 visitors to Blaasveld, despite the rainy weather. This award is a great recognition for the enthusiasm of the different people and organisations that have contributed to Molenbergfeesten.
