Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the flavor profile of the Carolus beer range. "Hopsinjoor" refers both to the figure "Opsinjoor," which is woven into Mechelen's history, and to the five varieties of hops used. The hops are added at different stages during the brewing process to preserve maximum aroma.
It is a predominantly smooth beer with a bitter aftertaste. Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor was launched in 2008 at the Zythos Beer Festival and was an immediate hit. Many visitors chose it as the best beer, and the brewery Het Anker received the "Consumer Trophy Zythos Beer Festival 2008."
The beer is bottled unfiltered to preserve as much hop bitterness as possible.
